Warren Buffet said, “Accounting is the language of business.” An effective accountant is crucial for business success and growth, as they play a key role in managing expenses, cutting costs, advising leadership on the financial status of the organization and its cash flow, and most importantly, ensuring the business complies with all legal regulations regarding finance. For more than 8 years, I have provided accounting, bookkeeping, and AP/AR processing for a diverse array of organizations of all sizes and industries.

Numbers and mathematics have always been my specialty. In fact, as far back as the 7th grade, I was scouted by universities to receive a degree in either mathematics or engineering due to my outstanding performance in my science and mathematics courses and standardized tests.

For the earlier part of my career, I had a series of short-term jobs. This was because back then I was married to a military service member, so when my spouse transferred, I had to move also. However, now I am no longer a military spouse and I have decided to settle permanently in Oregon, near my family. Even when I had to change jobs due to frequent moves, there was a common theme of always working with numbers, records, and accounting. I have recently made the decision to pursue my CPA designation by next year.

I truly understand the importance of the accounting team and the value that standardized accounting processes can bring. Through my attention to detail and dedication to accuracy, I have recovered more than $50,000 in expenses for the Department of Defense; I saved hundreds of dollars in monthly late fees as a contract accountant; and I created and facilitated training classes that ensured tax law compliance for my employers.
